Special Issues
Publishing your paper in a peer-reviewed journal
We continue with the tradition of previous ISSWs to offer authors the possibility to submit their papers to a peer-reviewed journal. To this end, we offer two venues.
Papers submitted to special issues must be substantially different than those published in the ISSW proceedings and typically contain expanded technical information, additional details of methods, and a more complete description of results and conclusions. These papers undergo a rigorous peer-review.
With the possibility to submit to a special issue (ISSW 2024) of Cold Regions Science and Technology (CRST), we want to address especially authors working on physical aspects of snow and avalanches, engineering and forecasting practice, climate and hydrological aspects, interaction between forests with snow and avalanches.
- Submission for this special issue opens November 5th, 2024, and ends January 13th, 2025. The envisioned publication date of the Special Issue is November 3rd, 2025, but all papers will be available online as soon as they are fully accepted.
With the possibility to submit to a special issue (ISSW 2024) of Journal of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism (JORT), we want to address especially authors working on the human aspects of avalanches risk management. We welcome submissions on qualitative and quantitative research projects as well as theoretical contributions and simulation studies that offer new insight on the human aspects of avalanche risk management and help advance existing debates within the field.
- Submission for this special issue in JORT opens September 30th 2024, and ends March 15th 2025. All papers will be available online as soon as they are fully accepted.
